Description
Ripstop/Foil is made by taking 320 gsm Ripstop Canvas and laminating a metalised polyester to the one side. The foil (metalised polyester) reflects sunlight away from the underside of the material and can make a difference in temperature of up to 10 degrees Celsius. This material is waterproof.
Please note that when manufacturing tarps using the Ripstop/foil to be sure to re-enforce points of attachment via eyelets with heavy-duty webbing, as the material will stretch under tension however the foil will not, so delaminating may occur if consideration is not taken in this regard.
Applications
This material can be used for manufacturing tarps with the purpose of reflecting heat and keeping you cool. It can also be used in the manufacturing of cooler bags.
